Your characterвЂ™s armor and clothing are among the most prominent ones however, they are not the only ones. If you want to start with modding, I would highly suggest to start of with a mixing armours via nifskope ( ie taking armour parts from different armours and merging them together ) or use a Bodyslide2 and its OutfitStudio tool. Not to mention adding it to the CK and editing parameters in the nifkope, but thats the easiest part. I don't mean these HD textures where people simply upscale vanilla textures from 1024 > 2028 and after it they apply a sharpening filter. If you want a realy HD textures, they take time to create.

Then you have to create a textures, usually from scratch or use some templates ( which they actually speed up texturing a bit ). Thats why you see many skimpy plates and bikinis, its way easier to make a proper weighting so it doesn't clip through your character or stretch like a gum when you walk. You have to go through the concepting phase > 3d modeling with a blender/3dsmax > optimizing > rigging them, that part is especially hard when you work on plate armours. For what it's worth, I hear good things about Immersive Armors [so that's probably at least a good starting point. They're just so hard to find buried behind all those skimpy armor mods. I'm sure the Nexus has armor sets for more realistic and/or 'cool' motifs though, like Immersive Armors. Most armor sets I've heard about on the grapevine are made for females, and are really skimpy (especially considering all the snow - BRRRR! They must be so cold all the time!). There's a guide I found for making armor, but you'll note that it's definitely quite intensive, and not exactly suitable for what I think of as 'beginner' work I mean, for example, I myself know what all the terms mean (Normal Map, UV Map, Weight, etc), but I'm not patient enough for that! Of course, I'm also notoriously incompetent when it comes to art of any kind (even my best finger-paintings were graded as F- in pre-Kindergarten! ) - but if you have an artistic mind it'll almost certainly help. I know it's a lot easier to re-color/re-texture an existing armor set because that way the 3D models are already made, all the animations are ready to go, and all that jazz - the 2D textures of the armor are a cakewalk to change in comparison. Well, the way I understand it, making armor for Skyrim is theoretically easy - if you're experienced with 3D modeling in Blender. No 'the less armor woman has the stronger it is' kind of в™Ґв™Ґв™Ґв™Ґв™Ґ. Or suggest some other cool looking heavy armor mod.

I have trouble of finding cool looking dark heavy armor like the orginal Shadow order armor so I was thinking how hard is it to make armor mod yourself?
